Munchin' in Munchen

Look at the size of my Bratwurst!

After Honkers, we went to Munich (or as the locals say, Munchen). We have been so fortunate with our travel plans as we were originally going to go straight to Capetown, but as Chester won a travel voucher from his work, we were able to travel around Europe and visit some friends first without any extra travel costs!

In Munich, we met up with Des and Jen - it was so good seeing them again! We were in Munich a few days before Christmas, so there were Christmas markets everywhere along the streets. Every second stall is food-related, so all we did was eat. It was absolutely freezing around the markets so all the locals stand around the stalls drinking Gluhwein, a warm sweet red wine. As its so cold, its socially acceptable to start drinking before noon - so Jen and I hit the bottle early (to warm up of course!).

Yummy Gluhwein! Every stall has a different cup which you have to put down a small deposit for. We decided to keep our cups cause they were so cute!

More Christmas markets and thus more Gluhwein and Bratwurst to be had!
