Meet Hadlock

We are on our way home after our 2 year adventure in South Africa. We are currently in Hong Kong and have decided to extend our time here to spend more time with Chester's family. We should be back in a couple of weeks.

We really praise God for teaching us so many wonderful things and we cant wait to share it all with you when we return to Sydney! Although we tried to watch what we ate in Cape Town, we are still coming back heavier than we left because...we are pregnant!

Ka is currently 16 weeks and is due around the 10th June. Put your dibs in now if you want us to name the child after you! Viv has been the most convincing so far as the baby is due on her birthday. We have decided not to find out the sex of the baby beforehand, but we have given him/her a nickname - 'Hadlock' as that was on all the ultrasounds. I think its a term of measurement, but we quite like it as a nickname.

Ka's pregnancy has been going really well, and she hasn't experienced any morning sickness or adverse effects. This was fortunate as our exams coincided with the first trimester. She just took extra naps during the day, which would have probably happened anyway!

We went for an 8-week and a 13-week scan and the doctors all said that the baby is growing very well.

8 week scan - Hadlock is 1.54cm and only looks like a blobby thing; 13 week scan - Hadlock has grown to over 9cm and is more 'baby' shaped.

We've got a really cool DVD of the ultrasound if anyone's interested in having a look! It's quite cute - our baby even gets the hiccups at one point and you see him/her bouncing around Ka's womb. We were very impressed with the doctors in South Africa. They did such a thorough scan - measuring everything and checking that Hadlock's organs were working, checking the flow of blood and the heartbeat etc.

We look forward to showing Ka's growing bump to you soon!

Love, Ka, Chez & Hadlock
